I went to power management profile(through system tray icon), and saw there that if laptop lid closed(button events handling), it will go to sleep mode, may be change that to 'do nothing' will work. I guess most of the settings are effected while upgrading to 4.6 beta 1 from 4.5.3.

I am going to disable the password, and check if the screen remain the same.

EDIT: Tried w/o password. I guess, it has nothing to do with password, seems power management settings. will check that.

"Lid closing" issue resolved. It seems that 4.6 beta does not properly read all settings saved under 4.5.3

The factory images have 4.6 beta 1. The repos just haven't synced yet. Index of /factory/iso

is this long thread in Tech *News* - "Breaking and important technical
    news developments" no longer breaking?

maybe future tech *news* of BETA software could be announced here (if
it must) then the thread locked with a note that all interested
testers should discuss it in the unreleased software forum..

    maybe.

Somewhere in the middle. There's replies to the news itself as well, but I get what you mean. Happens once in a while, like indoor weather talks .

Got solved the dim screen issue. As i said, most of the settings are changed while upgrading to 4.6 beta.
Opened power management and disable the 'dim display' for my profile (performance), and that worked.

About this thread: i have no problems if this moved to beta section, but better option is to close this one and create new with the same name and give redirect link here to that new thread at the end of this thread with message that this thread is closed for posting.

    Hi all,

Since this thread is in "Tech News" and a lot of discussion is going on about user experiences, we're closing this thread, asking you to write replies in the newly opened thread in "Prerelease-Beta":
