trying to build from a generic src.rpm but it says
kdelibs4-devel requirement not met. After Googling I see that openSuse calls this lib libkde4-devel. Why? and is there an easy way for the system to respond positively to the " BuildRequires: kde4libs-devel" command other than editing the spec file? thanks, -- openSuse 11.1 x64bit, KDE4.x Factory, Opera weekly |

maybe you don't realize that you are asking a technical question in a
forum which is to be used to provide comments and suggestions about all the forums...the only real problem with that is the folks who have the ability to help you may not visit this more group administration focused area.. so, i would suggest you post to a 'help' group, maybe opensuse.org.help.application (since i _guess_ you are trying to install a Linux application on your 11.1, but see the fuller list below) before you do: i wonder if you know that it is NOT required to compile everything you want to install...nor is it required for you to even download rpm packages....most (not all, but most) common use packages are contained in the openSUSE repositories and therefore easily installed with YaST or zypper.. read up on those, as well as compiling software at http://en.opensuse.org/Concepts then, post again in one of the *help* fora... opensuse.org.help.applications opensuse.org.help.applications.multimedia opensuse.org.help.hardware opensuse.org.help.hardware.laptop opensuse.org.help.install-boot-login opensuse.org.help.looking-for opensuse.org.help.network-internet opensuse.org.help.programming-scripting opensuse.org.help.programming-scripting.build-service or, if you wish you may log into the web side where all those and other fora are mirrored, see: http://forums.opensuse.org either way, next time you post include the name of the application you are trying to install.. -- palladium Have a lot of fun.. |
