Default sign in

WOW, is it possible that the ridiculous sign-in to the forum every
hour security rule has been lifted/modified?

i ask because i logged in earlier today to seek something on the wiki,
and now to the forum to search and was initially confused because the
search page didn't throw up the frustrating image verification test..

THEN, i noticed i was signed in to the forum....SEVERAL hours after
having been to the wiki..

is this a dream come true or an oversight that will be changed back to
the way it "had to be because Novell controlled it"

No, it hasn't been changed - the login is the same login for all of these
systems. That's the idea behind it.

ok...so, 8 hours later i click a local link in firefox to visit
http://forums.opensuse.org/ and it shows me still signed in..

THAT didn't happen last week...and, also last week when i went to the
forum opening page the upper right corner did NOT just show
"| Logout", and it DID show (something like) "Search | Sign in/Register"

and, it did NOT show "Welcome, Blah Blah. You last visited: Today at
14.32"

and, just to make sure it is not an OLD tab, i press F5, and it shows
me still signed in..

so, something changed!

the "Search" is no longer up at the top, but if i click the further
down the page "Search" then "Advanced Search" that page comes up and
there is NO image verification section, proving that i am signed in
some six hours after my last visit (it is now 20:18)..

something has definitely changed, as i used to have to sign-in every
hour or so..

WHOA! i try to search and it flips back to the opening page...still
shows "Logout" and still welcomes me but...what IS going on??

go back to advanced search and still no image verification...but,
still i canNOT run a search..

it looks broken to me!

i shut down ff, open again...go to the forum and NOW it shows
"|Register/Login", and a trip to "search" has the frustrating image
verification..

strange...someone has changed the format of the page and (i think)
accidentally messed up something else...

I posted in this thread a while ago regarding sign in experience and I found my post in another thread which is this Active Directory Authentication With Likewise Open - openSUSE Forums
