Smile When a thread is solved,we need something that we ..

Hi everyone,

in thise forums if is 1 thread is solved you can`t but solved or closed.
In KDE forums you/we ask for problem and when someone solved a problem you/we can click on solved icon.
But when you look your thread for example I lost my Firefox and me or someone solved that threat one click one a ICON solved anyone can read "(solved) I lost my Firefox" that how it looks like.
That what we need.

Is that not a bad Idea

Michael

This has been discussed several times & the consensus was, if your problem is solved & you want it marked as such, contact an Admin or Moderator & give them the details.

Let me guess, it's because NNTP doesn't support "such insignificant features".

You know from today I solved the problem and you explain how did you solved the problem,we don`t have to wait 1/2 day or 1 1/2 days waiting for Admin or Moderator to explain ....So you click on solved and that is it,very simple look in KDE.org how they set up.

Honestly, the Mark as Solved function I've seen implemented on other sites
is basically useless. If you notice the moderators really don't want a
bunch of 'Unsolved' threads sitting around so after a period of time it
gets changed to 'Solved' whether it ever was or not. Can't tell you how
many times I've had to 'Unsolve' a thread. You also get the drive by
posters that don't mark things as solved, they get their answer and leave,
nobody knows if the solution worked or not. So I guess my opinion is it's
a novel idea, but doesn't work well in practice. Not sure how I feel
about 'kudos' either. Mostly they just seem to be gimmicks.

Well, if I search on "wireless problem" and 70 threads come up, I would first go to the ones marked "solved."

Bugzilla marks things solved.... or resolved... which could be applied to things we give up on.

That has to be a first. Someone agreeing with me.
Think I'll take the rest of the day off. :-)

I am noting the day on my Calendar...March 4, 2009 someone
agrees with me.
