New Open Suse user here. Been on MInt/Ubuntu for 5 year and I guess I got spoiled by the debian system. OpenSuse 11.2 is nice, real nice, but for one thing. We play Urban Terror as a famil;y, Me against my sons) But when I start it via the menu nothing happens, the logo bounces for a bit and then nothing. Wheni start it from the CLI I get this
chuck@linux-6c8z:~> urbanterror
rm: cannot remove `/home/chuck/.q3a/q3ut4/zpak000.pk3': No such file or directory
chuck@linux-6c8z:~>

So what failed to install, what do I need to install or configure or should I try alien from a .deb file or .tgz files I have of Urban Terror.
Lookslike alien is not an option

Thanks

haven't done any gaming at all under opensuse, but my grandson has run across old games that i have (doom2, quake, etc) that he was interested in trying. unfortnately i don't have any win boxes anymore, so where do i start?

get dosbox-qt from packman? run them under wine which is already installed? which would provide the best graphics using proprietary drivers and 3D?

i'm out of my element, any suggestions?

I downloaded the rpm above from Index of /repositories/games/openSUSE_11.2

My system is a openSUSE 11.2 with a kernel 2.6.31.5-0.1-desktop
and KDE 4.3.1.

As i wanted to start that application from Kickoff nothing happened, so i tried to start it from konsole:

Data files will be fetched from: '/usr/share/games/supertuxkart/'
Config file '/home/pingu/.supertuxkart/config' does not exist, it will
be created.
Assertion 'm->n_waiting_for_accept > 0' failed at
pulse/thread-mainloop.c:221, function pa_threaded_mainloop_accept().
Aborting.
Abgebrochen

Whats the matter? Is that package defect or is my configuration insufficient?
The static binary from supertuxkart.sourceforge.net is working on my system. But i'd like to use the version from openSUSE-Build-Service.

I would appreciate your help.
Thanks a lot.

Obviously it doesn't work with Linux.

So how do I set things up in Suse 11.2 64bit KDE4 and change the TCPAckFrequency so it does what this did for me in MS?

(I want to add changing this made a HUGE difference in the game. For those that play it know how Dalaran can be and how laggy it gets often, especially weekends. This fix changed all of that. No lag at all after I did this.)
