Lightbulb New Forum Home Page Layout

As you can see we have a new forum home page layout. As we have added additional language specific areas to our forums, the home page had grown unwieldy. This new layout has approximately the same information on the page, but in a cleaner, easier to view and navigate style. We've also added a collapsible sidebar which shows new information in some specific areas of our forums.

The forums staff hopes these small changes will make navigating our forums from the home page a bit easier.

Unwieldy for who? Before it was easy to collapse non-english language forum group on the home page. That no longer works, does it? Clicking on the arrow, top right of each group appears to to do nothing here.

Further to that, I can only collapse the english forum list, but that's the one I don't want to collapse. Is it a bug?

It is a bug in our current version of vBulletin. It is fixed in the next version so we just have to upgrade.

Forum has been getting more difficult to navigate, it has gotten to where I even dread seeing what changes will be made with each visit, I visit less and less often. Shame to see what was a simple and straight forward easy to navigate forum turn into what it has. A mish mash page that just looks terrible and is not contrary to what some may think, is not easier to navigate.

Might I suggest you try switching to the newsgroups instead of the forums?

Well, while we recognize that we're not going to please everyone, what
suggestions would you make to improve navigation? Suggestions are always
better than just saying "it stinks". We might be able to accommodate
some of those suggestions if you were to make some.
