Is it just me or is the nntp down, my reader complains now for more than an hour that it cannot get a connection. Do others see it as well?

It looks to be the NNTP server/service - the gateway is still trying to run, but it's not what your newsreader actually connects to.
I'll see if I can find someone to escalate it inside Novell.

by the way, last evening i got vBulletin error messages (on the db being broke) for about 15 minutes last night (afternoon in Salt Lake)....maybe in 'fixing' that someone 'unplugged' the nntp server ?? (just thought i would mention, in case that _potential_ connection it is helpful to the fixers)Code:IP Information - 192.94.118.247 IP address: 192.94.118.247 Reverse DNS: [No reverse DNS entry per ns.Novell.COM.] Reverse DNS authenticity: [Unknown] ASN: 3680 ASN Name: NOVELL IP range connectivity: 6 Registrar (per ASN): ARIN Country (per IP registrar): US [United States] Country Currency: USD [United States Dollars] Country IP Range: 192.94.118.0 to 192.94.119.255 Country fraud profile: Normal City (per outside source): Unknown Country (per outside source): -- [] Private (internal) IP? Having no nntp gave me the time to play with the Mageia 2 alpha. Dangerous times for my openSUSE![]()
We had some trouble yesterday with the forums. Kim will attend to the ntp side once he comes around from his Nocturnal Slumber
NNTP service will resume normally ASAP. Unfortunately the management of such is down to a limited number of individuals (myself not included)
