Tags for non-english subfora

I usually browse this forum by hitting the "What's New?" → "New Posts"-button and I often accidentally hit a thread which is in japanese, russian or some other non-english language. Looking at the forums-segment takes too long for me, as I concentrate on the left side of the screen (the topics, which often are english-compatible even in the foreign subfora) to get a quick idea about what's new.

I know it's laziness after all, but is there any way to tag non-english threads so they're easier to distinguish?

Only if someone bothers to tag them. There isn't an automatic method of
doing so, no.

Besides, why can't a thread change language somewhere in the middle? I've
seen people answer a question in another language because they feel
confortble reading, but not writing in some language?

Me, I'd be OK to read German, but much less so at writing it. I could answer
a German question in English or Dutch - or even French if the requestor
understands it.
