Atheros AR8162 Fast Ethernet [1969:1090] (rev 10) not detected

Hi,

At my workplace i need to use a wired connection to have net access.

The ethernet card has not been detected. The LAN cable does not show any blinking lights. ifconfig does not show any eth0 or eth1 entry, just shows 'lo'

I read somewhere that compat-wireless needs to be installed. I could not find it in the standard repos + Packman. Do i have to compile the driver?

Those links will get you later wireless drivers than you have in the standard
kernel.

There is no 1969:1090 device in any kernel (yet). You will need a driver from
the vendor.

alx kernel module in my TESTING repository for 12.2 and 12.2 update.

Hi Malcolm,

I added your repo from Index of /repositories/home:/malcolmlewis:/TESTING/openSUSE_12.2

But when i tried to install alx-kmp-desktop or alx-kmp-kernel i got an error message that nothing provides alx-scripts=0.

What do you suggest?

Once again, malcolm to the rescue.
I will keep that rpm on my hd,, every time there is a kernel update
I have to compile alx. Reputtion point will be added again to you in a moment.

Edit: The reputation button is telling me to spread it first before giving you another reputation malcolm.

I need to fix the script error There is the update repo, so
shouldn't need to rebuild, but always handy to have a src rpm around....
