I have just used kate to update a file on a remote web server. Painless.
The only problem (but a big one) going from 4.6.5 to 4.7 on this 11.4 + kernel-desktop-3.0.0 laptop (radeon) has been a failure of kmail to start.
The battery monitor still shows the charge rising to 97,98,99 then 0% charged. This has been since KDE 4 though (XFCE reports 100%). Sysinfo:/ also shows no charge when the battery is full -- sometimes a quick power break will fool the machine into thinking the battery is really empty and switching itself off. I also despair of ever getting case-sensitive sorting back into dolphin etc. There seems to be a policy in KDE to emulate Microsoft in this matter (judging from the responses to bug reports).Code:KMail encountered a fatal error and will terminate now. The error was: Failed to fetch the resource collection.

Kmail issue looks like a nasty one -
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=708977
Spent all morning trying to get wireless to work. It is now working well, but I cannot fathom out what I did differently to the numerous previous attempts of deleting the Yast Network Devices entry, rebooting, re-entering information...
pager is missing from the panel, and cant add it in panel anymore (from add widget option),
shortcut for virutal desktop ctrl+f12 is not working either

for me kwrite & kate work fine, and also kmail2 opens without error. BUT i
find that mysqld, called from akonadi, constantly eats 16% of my 4 CPUs.
login/logout didn't change that, and next i'll try deleting all nepomuk
data. this didn't happen when i was running KDE 4.7 from the KUSC repos
(using KDF now); something new cropped up it seems.

i don't experience these error, but first time after upgrading,
plasma-desktop crashed and wouldn't come back. the error message said
something about 'grid desktop,' which i was using. after deleting all
plasma-related stuff from ~/.kde4 i could start again. some widgets don't
work, saying some package is missing, but pager is not among them (for me).

Can get Kmail working (sort of) using advice from here:-
[Bug 259355] kmail terminates during startup with "Failed to fetch the resource collection."

Same thing happening here with mysqld on 4.7 - 50% of two CPUs - but it
also happened with 4.6.5. Since I don't use it, Akonadi, kdepim, etc.,
I'll shut down akonadi again. Will look into it more deeply later but the
Test Match against India is due to start. ;-)
