Internet not working right. please HELP!

So I can connect to my WiFi but everytime i watch a video or try to download something it cuts out and gets stuck trying to reconnect. It gets stuck at the configuring interface stage. So i restart my comp and it works fine untill the next time its out then i have to restart again. sometimes it will just cut out for no reason.

Ive tried rebooting my router, reinstalling the wifi drivers and also deleting the connection and starting completely over. Nothing works! can someone help? would be greatly appreciated!

You maybe misunderstand

I just want you to test the connection by switching off the wireless security at the access point. The code above was just to tell me about your device. A quick Google suggest it has it's issues. But I'm no expert.

I note that OP has an AR5008 Wireless Network Adapter. This seems quite close to an "AR5001" I have in an Acer Aspire One where it works well using the ath5k driver. Maybe OP could try to use that driver instead of his ath9k.

go into your network card set up and check if you have IVP6 enabled, If so try it with just IPV4 enabled and see if that solves the problem.

Are You using ifup or NetworkManager ?

I have Atheros WiFi using ath9k kernel module driver and it works perfectly when using NetworkManager but works very slow when using ifup. When using ifup it tries to work at WiFi N speed @ 150 Mbit/s (no idea why), which ath9k seems to not support yet. When using NetworkManager it negotiates with the AP speed @ 54 Mbit/s and works great without any disruptions.

Also how were You reinstalling the drivers ? Maybe You have broken something in the process ?
