Online update does not connect to the internet

Forgive me, I try to do better. :-)

I state that "Proxy: http://proxy.stud.univpm.it" is the proxy that I set to benefit of the university wireless connection so when I get home I have to reset the system proxy settings in the preferences menu of firefox.
I do not know if has to deal but I hope it can help you in solving the problem.

Now to understand what to see, I started the package manager exactly at 20:04 local time, then I did the same procedure and opened the log file "y2log" which now is dated 20:04 and did the same search with "aria2c".

I post the text from just before "aria2c"(which is in the second line) to the maximum I am allowed to post.

It doesn't matter, as he said that all fail. What is needed is what comes
after that with, we hope, the downloading error. We just have the attempt,
not the result.

But that affects firefox, not Yast. There is a system configuration you
have to adapt as well (or instead):

/etc/sysconfig/proxy

You could, perhaps, when at home, just set �PROXY_ENABLED="no"�, and back
to yes while at the university.

But you forgot to use the trick I told you to force the output to be in
English >:-)

"No route to host", that is what aria2c said.

You could try yourself by running in a terminal, as root ("su -", don't
forget the dash):

My guess is that the proxy settings are wrong. If you did that at home, the
proxy should be disabled, and you see in the line above that it is using it...

So disable the proxy like I told you above, and try again.

If that does not work, then try to start yast like this (as root in an xterm):

ZYPP_ARIA2C=0 yast2 .... whatever.

For example, for the updater:

ZYPP_ARIA2C=0 yast2 online_update

The variable set to zero should revert to use the older downloader instead
of aria2c. There have been some problems reported with proxies, I think.

You tried that at home or at the university? It has a proxy option, it can
not work at home.

I can't say unless you post the log extract. Check it for yourself: examine
the command line, see if it tries to insert a proxy option - if it does,
your config is still wrong. Go back in the log and find out where it is
getting the info from - you only have to use common sense and read.

Otherwise, try the command in a console yourself. Do this while yast is
stopped with the pop-up message that it found a problem, don't abort it.

You saw how I extracted the command, you can do it yourself. No need to
wait for me to post the next step 12 hours later.

SOLVED!!!
A friend advised me to check the editor / etc / sysconfig and saw that it was actually set up the proxy of the university.
This is strange because I had just set in the preferences menu of firefox and I do not understand why it was set also in yast.
Is it possible that firefox do these changes?

However now everything works fine.

First of all thank you very much robin_listas for the help and time devoted to the community.
Happens that human languages cannot have unique interpretation so it is not enough to "read carefully" if the level of computer literacy it is not the same as yours,... be patience .... and thank you again.
