Greetings Community
I recently bought a asus x50gl notebook, and decided this time to give opensuse a run, instead of fedora. So far Im really pleased with the distro , almost everything seems to be working out of the box, although I have ran into a few problems so any help would be greatly appreciated. Also first thing I did was update, so everything is up to date.
1. I noticed after install sax is recognizeing my graphics card as a Vesa Framebuffer Device ? Ok so after downloading the nvidia driver for notebooks compiling and re-running sax I am able to get the full resolution 1280x800@60Hz although still in sax and my xorg.conf vesa framebuffer is in their ?? is this ok although I have a nvidia 9200M ?
xorg.conf:
lspci:Code:Section "Device" BoardName "Framebuffer Graphics" Driver "nvidia" Identifier "Device[0]" VendorName "VESA" EndSection
2.) After booting and logging into gnome and then logging out and back in I get this Dbus Error: (Although I think this may be from the ath9k wireless ?? related to the ForceXPAon:0 Error ?)Code:00:00.0 Host bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP79 Host Bridge (rev b1) 00:00.1 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation MCP79 Memory Controller (rev b1) 00:03.0 ISA bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP79 LPC Bridge (rev b2) 00:03.1 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation MCP79 Memory Controller (rev b1) 00:03.2 SMBus: nVidia Corporation MCP79 SMBus (rev b1) 00:03.3 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation MCP79 Memory Controller (rev b1) 00:03.4 RAM memory: nVidia Corporation Device 0a98 (rev b1) 00:03.5 Co-processor: nVidia Corporation MCP79 Co-processor (rev b1) 00:04.0 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP79 OHCI USB 1.1 Controller (rev b1) 00:04.1 USB Controller: nVidia Corporation MCP79 EHCI USB 2.0 Controller (rev b1) 00:08.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP79 High Definition Audio (rev b1) 00:09.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP79 PCI Bridge (rev b1) 00:0a.0 Ethernet controller: nVidia Corporation MCP79 Ethernet (rev b1) 00:0b.0 SATA controller: nVidia Corporation MCP79 AHCI Controller (rev b1) 00:10.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP79 PCI Express Bridge (rev b1) 00:15.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP79 PCI Express Bridge (rev b1) 00:16.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP79 PCI Express Bridge (rev b1) 00:17.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP79 PCI Express Bridge (rev b1) 00:18.0 PCI bridge: nVidia Corporation MCP79 PCI Express Bridge (rev b1) 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GeForce 9200M G (rev b1) 06:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. 3.) ACPI , for some strange reason I am getting the following ACPI Errors:Code:Error: DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. Please select another viewer and try again
Also The battery is not know to the system , it always says it running on AC power here is my lsmod, also for the sake of the thread length I wont post my acpidump. Someone was telling me to compile this: freshmeat.net: Project details for acpi4asus But it looks a bit dated to me.Code:Feb 22 15:57:37 odin kernel: ACPI Exception (evregion-0419): AE_TIME, Returned by Handler for [EmbeddedControl] [20080609] Feb 22 15:57:37 odin kernel: ACPI Error (psparse-0530): Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.SBRG.EC0_.SADC] (Node f48525f4), AE_T IME Feb 22 15:57:37 odin kernel: ACPI Error (psparse-0530): Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.SBRG.EC0_.STBR] (Node f4852644), AE_T IME Feb 22 15:57:37 odin kernel: ACPI Error (psparse-0530): Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PCI0.IXVE.VGA_.LCDD._BCM] (Node f484b3ec), AE_TIME
