Default swap_free: Bad swap offset entry 1000000000000

    howzit folks?

since i did a system update followed by install of akonadi and after a second reboot i'm getting a kernel segmentation fault. i've tried repairing the installed system and i've tried doing a fresh install but all to no avail.

does anyone ahve any idea what's causing this?

Default Re: swap_free: Bad swap offset entry 1000000000000

    additional info:

when i try to repair installed system using the x86_64 dvd and the automatic repair the following happens:

    check partition tables - ok
    check swap areas - ok
    check file systems
ntfs - problematic (not an issue at this stage)
searching for currently mounted partitions - hangs

    anyone have any ideas?

i will try each of the repair options and a fresh install and post results here.

    cheers

Did you google this swap_free: Bad swap offset entry - Google Search
looks like you need to run memtest.
Man first, have a try at Info, have a look at Wiki, if all that fails Scroogle!!!!!
If I've helped click on the Rep button I don't know what it does but it sounds cool.

i did google but nothing significant came up as i had the 1000000000000 included.

    memtest is showing dodgy memory.

    many thanks for the help.

    cheers
