My machine locks up (hangs) regularly. So I've left the System Activity monitor open on the desktop to find out what is causing the issue.
It seems that there are a number of processes that enter "Disk Sleep".
Among them are the following.
Often there are others that go into "Disk Sleep".
The rest of the processes run normally. For instance my sound will continue to run in the background.
I will lose all input (mouse, keyboard) control. Sometimes keystrokes and mouse clicks will be registered, but not actioned until the hang is gone.
