Default Suse 12.1 Intel vieo driver

    Hi

Has somebody has succeeded to install the intel video driver on OpenSuse 12.1?
I tried a lot of times, it seems it is going necesarily trough libdrm 2.4.31, which's version is not available for Suse. Latest available version for suse is 2.4.24.

The intel driver is included as part of the kernel. Are you referring to building a newer version?

Well, if it is included, I am not really satisfied with it. My last distro was Ubuntu 9.10 and there I had a briliant picture quality. Now it is definatelly what it was before. And I am suprprised, because OpenSuse is so new distro, and Ubuntu 9.10 was releeased in 2009.
Is there any way to get adequate driver?

    Thanks for your time anyway.

You need to clarify with a little more detail.

1.What difference in picture quality are you noticing? Is your display running at the optimal resolution?

2.What intel graphics chipset do you have? Is it using the intel driver, or maybe only a framebuffer driver is in use?
    Code:
    /sbin/lspci -nnk
*Post the entry pertaining to your graphics
Maybe the xrandr output will be ueful too
    Code:
    xrandr

    Hi

    1. Well, comparing to one and same youtube videos, for example, when I was watching them on my Ubuntu 9.10 in the bigger screen mode, the picture was sharp and with small pixels. Now the same videos are foggy and I can see that the pixels are bigger. My display is running at the only one posssible resoultion for my screen - 1366x768. Actually I would prefer some lower resolution, but the other lower available are with different ratio than the used by my screen. (My screen is 16:9 and the other available resoultions are 4:3).
    2. Output:
