Virtual Machine? - (what's easy and stable)

I have a couple of x86_64 installs of 11.0, and tried Xen on both but it seems to have troubles still. For instance, although my HP Turion TL-52 x2 laptop is *supposed* to support full virtualization, Xen reports "my processors don't support full virtualization." (I'm guessing I found a bug...)

I tried following:
How to install & configure Xen Virtualization in openSUSE 11.0 | SUSE & openSUSE

...and that's how I managed to get the error on my TL-52's
I thought maybe VMWare might be more stable, and VMware server is free... I have a number-crunching app that I need to run under Windows, is why I would like to do virtualization. Does anyone know if VMware will do full (i.e., Windows) virtualization on older processors that Xen won't support for full virtualization?

Words of advice?

Did you enable the option in your BIOS to enable this functionality?
Most laptops (like my Dell D630) come with it disabled but once enabled
it has worked well. If you use VMware Server at all and can virtualize
a 64-bit guest OS I think that means it is enabled as well since,
otherwise, you cannot virtualize 64-bit even in VMware.

Why don`t you try VirtualBox. It is open source free program with full functionality one can need.

Ah! I didn't know that was necessary (don't remember ever seeing virtualization in a BIOS before) - thanks!

Well, it turns out VMWare Server is free, and I am just finishing a WinXP install in a VM on my openSuSE 11.0 x86_64 install (Athalon 4400, 3Gig ram, GForce 8600, 500Gig SATA HD). Apparently Virtual Box is the fastest of the virtual technologies, but there are two "flavors" of "fast," apparently - GUI screen speed and responsiveness and things like whetstone and dhrystone speed. I'm interested because I want to run a Linux workstation at work and host OS's needed to run various computational fluid dynamic applications.
