    - I suggest using the openSUSE package at virtualbox.org

    - Using virtualbox to run Ubuntu doesn't seem like a good solution in this case because the SDK itself runs in virtualbox, as I understand the installation guide, so you would be running virtualbox inside a virtualbox instance - probably not supported.

    I have it working on OpenSuse 11.2 by following these instructions here: MojoSDK on Fedora - WebOS Internals. It is for Fedora but the only part that needed tweaking was running the postinst script for the Novacom install fails because Fedora's directory names for running services are different. I just linked to the Novacom executable manually and it works fine.
