    Default Urgent help needed

    Hello

My opensuse 11.1 system in KDE 4.1 session for normal user does not respond to my laptop keyboard or to my USB keyboard. It is working when I am logged in as root. It is also working in Enlightenment
for both users. How can I solve this issue?

    Looking forward to your response.

    Regards,
    Cross

    Hey Cross,

Any reason you're still using 4.1 rather than 4.2? Did this happen after an update? Have you tried updating your system again? I have heard kwin window manager can be the cause of this. Are you using compiz or kwin?

Try to start sax2 from the terminal.
At the login window for Session Type select Console Login. Log in as root, and type
    Code:
    sax2
, now select your keyboard model, save the settings. After in terminal type
    Code:
    kdm
and now try to log in into KDE.

Well I know of kwin problem but to solve it i have to type kwin --replace which can't b done without the kets working. Thats why I am searching for alternatives.

    Unhappy Re: Urgent help needed

Guess I replied prematurely. It worked but after sometime, as I was typing, the letters did not appear any more and I knew the keyboard wasn't working again. Even now I am replying through Enlightenment.
