Is it just me, but does every distro using Gnome look ugly?

It's supposed to be somewhat ready by now, but requires KDE SC 4.4 or higher as a dependency. There's more info at Planet KDE

Back on topic though, I think Gnome 3.0 is shaping up to look pretty nice, but until then I prefer KDE.

Gnome ugly. What's wrong with this, openSUSE 11.3.

I think its not really about what is ugly or nice. That is very subjective.
Take KDE, which clearly wants to look like Windows. Then you take Gnome, which wants to look like MacOS.
One thing i think is clear, that OpenSource programmers are not designers. Everything works technically fine but design is an area that needs some serious improvement.
Most people will argue that everything is customizable. True. But i think there could be a much better desktop experience.
For the desktop i do admire Apple. Very well thought design in my opinion.

I do use KDE at the moment and though nothing is wrong with it, but it always reminds me of Windows.
