Default Bluedevil: Native bluetooth for KDE4!!!

There is now finally a decent bluetooth app for KDE4! Kbluetooth could never connect to my Motorola Razor. It always said the phone didn't support input, which is wrong. I always had to use gnome bluetooth or blueman. I just installed bluedevil from the OBS, and it setup my phone without problems. It has it's own KCM module for seting up devices. It also checks for bluetooth setup errors and fixes them. I am so excited! This needs to be tested and included in 11.4. BlueDevil, the new KDE bluetooth stack is here | Afiestas Blog

I created a feature on openfate. Vote for it if you like it. https://features.opensuse.org/310256

Thank you for sharing the information, I'll test it. Don't you know, does it work with KDE 4.0? I've stopped upgrading my DE at this point and to tell the truth really haven't any wish to make experiments with higher versions.

I'm late to the party! I've only just become aware of BlueDevil. I'm running openSUSE 11.3 (with KDE4.6.2 currently). For some reason, I still had kbluetooth installed. Upon installing bluedevil with

    Code:
    zypper in bluedevil
    I got

    Code:
The following NEW packages are going to be installed:
      bluedevil bluedevil-lang libbluedevil1

The following package is going to be REMOVED:
      kbluetooth

The following recommended package was automatically selected:
      bluedevil-lang
Accepting these changes, I now have working bluetooth connectivity with my Nokia phone. Great stuff
