A question to those living on OpenSUSE 11 RC1's edge.
Dose it read & write natively to an NTFS drive? i.e. no editing of the FSTAB file needed. What I'm really interested in is mouting external drives; SATA; 1394 (400) & (800) but mainly USB 2.0. Thanks guys B) |

see http://www.ntfs-3g.org/support.html#questions
ntfs-rg comes with the 11.0 dvd but you may have to select it you should be wary of external drives that use usb power instead of a seperate power source you may wish to see http://flomertens.free.fr/ntfs-config/ |

Thanks for the reply.
I was hoping the OpenSUSE team would have automated the mounting process for NTFS partitions by now. We have had a pretty stable driver for RW to NTFS (NTFS-3G with fuse) for a while now (over a year) and it should have been integrated into HAL and fstab by now. The question is not how can I do it as I already have it working well. Even have boot USB sticks with RW to window NTFS partitions. What am curious is has Suse 11 got this function out the box? |
