Suse 11 Rc1 Sata Raid Problem

This i took from lspci

00:08.0 RAID bus controller: Promise Technology, Inc. PDC20378 (FastTrak 378/SATA 378) (rev 02)

my harddiscs are in installation shown as they are /dev/sda /dev/sdb ......
but after suse uses some raid abstraction synonyms i supose called /mapper/...

at the first write attempt on installation I get a write error. this could be because my devices are not set to raid mode in bios but in simple ide mode which seems to boot another part of the rom at startup

ubuntu installation is working fine, because (i suppose) it only refers to /dev/sda.... and no mapper device

i have not been able to disable this suse feature on my own. anyone got some ideas?
