Now, i know that this is not possible in the current Beta(right?) but will it be possible in the final to set the panels to auto hide? Or will we have to wait until KDE 4.1, or een later.
I know it seems like a small thing but i am used to setting up my desktop that way. Opensuse 11 looks absolutely lovely and i'd realy like to use it but i'm not sure i want to do without this feature.

No reactions, am i the only one who likes this feature?
Anyway, to answer my own question, some diging in the KDE page has turned up that "panel hiding" (and i'm assuming this means auto-hiding as well) is on the to-do list for KDE 4.1
Guess i have to hold my breath

not sure about kde4, but it might be the same as kde3.5.9.... right click on panel>hiding>hide automatically.

I was going to say thankyou for sharing.

It seems they found the answer

after some digging in the KDE page

I certainly wasn't sure but I have only really tried KDE4 it's just a little to rough around the edges for me at the mo. I suspect when it is released in distro they will have solved much.

Nah, that's the first thing i tried. The feature is simply still under developement. Well, not even that, they've yet to start on implementing it if their wiki is any guide.

I would of thought so, KDE development seems to be quite good.

I have to admit I really can't use it at the mo so as you're confirming other bits, I'll sit it out and keep having a look every few months.

Though it shouldn't be long before Suse11 makes it hopefully by then if nothing else maybe the distro would of fixed it in a backport. I personally would be surprised if they're going to get 4.1 in from what I've seen.

How would they even be able to do that? 4.1 will be released more than a month after Opensuse 11.0

Hehe well seems your more up on it that I but there was mentions of getting it into 11 but not really been following it. I'll probably give it a go when it reaches rc.
