Hi,
has anyone managed to install the nvidia driver on openSUSE 11 beta2? Of course, there were no precompiled modules yet, so i tried to build one on my own. This failed, and I have no idea why. I am not keen on 3D graphics, but i desperately need to regulate the GPU fan, it's driving me nuts running at full speed  So if noone has built the nvidia driver yet, is there another way to regulate the gpu fan speed? nvclock didn't work or me neither My system: PentiumD805, AGP Mainbord with 865PE Chipset, AGP Graphics Card 7800GS. |

if you need some help, post installation error.
typical problems are related to the kernel changes. pretty easy to fix. If there any opensuse beta specific quirks, I am not sure, but without specific info one can only guess. |

Check the kernel version to the driver version. You should post this on the beta test section of the forums.
