Hello out there,

I don't know if it's just me missing something more or less obvious, but I can't add any online repositories in 11.0 alpha2. No matter how I do or what mirror I try, I keep getting error messages, most often regarding media.1:
File Media.1/media not found on media: (this_is_not_a_link)//download.opensuse.org/distributions/SSL-OSS-factory/inst-source

What am I doing wrong?

Best regards

They don't have the "community repositories" option in YaST in Alpha 2, the only time have tried to set up a repo for it is when I tried to see if there was a update mirror or server for it and YaST Online Update Configuration tool wasn't able to find one. It makes me sad to have to wait for Alpha 3 to get fixes for any problems.

Well, strange, but all of a sudden the repos worked. Then I started to update, but somewhere on the way X or xdm or something crashed in a strange way, leaving only a white screen, and finally I rebooted. Now my system seems partially broken (can't run any yast2 modules, and the mouse wheel won't work), and I can't find a way to repair it. I've tried zipper update and some other zipper variants, but all that happens is that it want to deinstall a number of packages.

I guess I have to try a repair from the install media, or maybe roll back to 10.3, although I really would like to test out 11...

11 is in alpha so bugs are to be expected, the best thing to do is maybe report what happened to you and next time use a virtual machine that why when something breaks you don't break your real system.

Well I know it's alpha, but I'm not sure I can produce a decent bug report (what went wrong, how to reproduce the but etc) from what happened. And since this is a new system, just about to be put in production, I felt I could afford some experimenting. B)

Anyhow, now I've installed 10.3, and are about finding my ways. Some things work fine, some make me frustrated. Why is getting printing to work so hard? In ubuntu it sort of just worked, the underlying cups system _should_ be the same... I guess I'll get it working in the end, learning something on the way. Anyway, my current problems don't belong in the beta forum.

What repositories are the Alpha2 testers using for openSUSE Alpha2 3rd-party rpms?

I suspect the following "factory" repositories will support alpha2.
are there other (useful repos) that Alpha2 testers are using?

I downloaded the openSUSE-11.0 alpha2 DVD (for 32bit). I searched, but could not find the MD5sum on the Internet for this iso file. I did find the iso for the torrent files:
http://ftp.hosteurope.de/mirror/ftp.opensu...torrent/MD5SUMS

md5sum openSUSE-11.0-Alpha2-DVD-i386.iso gives me:
c307b5f1570511897b787ca11ae092df openSUSE-11.0-Alpha2-DVD-i386.iso
...... can anyone confirm that to be the same that they get?
