I have several machines with SuSE 10.3 or OpenSUSE 10.3 installed and none of them works with KDE4.

I might add that I have added the KDE4 repositories and everything is completely up to date.

The behavior is I get the menu in the upper left corner, but it doesn't seem to work. The task bar shows a couple of icons, but the icons are just question marks and other than that, there is no menu or anything else from the task bar.

Two of the machines are running nVidia graphics cards with the latest drives installed and the third is running ATI. ATI doesn't work at all (ATI's driver has enough trouble with KDE 3.5.8 and xemacs!).

Two of these machines are at work and one is at home, but the behavior is the same.

Has anyone else run into this problem or have any suggestions? Right now it is impossible to use KDE4 with these major problems.

The menu in the upper left corner doesn't seem to do anything and is transparent. I cannot read several items due to black text on a very dark background.

KDE-4 is still very much under development.

Hence I have moved this thread to OpenBeta Questions.

Yes, I noticed the same thing when I loaded and reloaded KDE4. If you want to play with stable RC2 it looks like you'll need to build it from the binaries. I sought help from irc.kde.org and even the developers though it was a matter of a bad build.
