Hi Geoff,

I downloaded the DVD in about 8 hours with bittorent. .... If you can't get better download throughput, maybe you are better off waiting for the boxed version of 10.3, and purchase it via (snail) mail or via a local PC store.

Left it runing overnight so I'll check it out when i get home to see if things have sped up.
Not sure how invasive orange's traffic shaping is (only been with them for a couple of months).
ordered suse 10.3 from amazon so should see it by the end of october hopefully.

I downloaded it yesterday with Azureus. Took about ~4-5 hours. No problem, as fast as my connection allowed.

For those interested in purchasing openSUSE-10.3, one can order it now.
http://en.opensuse.org/Buy_openSUSE

Anyway, I ordered my boxed copy of 10.3 last night (from SUSE shop in Germany). .... of course, by the time the mule train arrives, with my boxed copy of openSUSE, it will likely be mid-October or later. I remember last time we checked on delivery times of openSUSE, and here in Germany I was one of the last to receive a boxed copy of openSUSE.

I still will likely download from the web and install 10.3 on one to three PCs in our apartment (with the download version), when 10.3 is finally formally released on the web.

I may also purchase two to three extra copies of 10.3 and give them away to relatives and friends as Christmas presents. If nothing else, for my Windoze/Mac friends, the SuSE CD/DVDs will make good coasters (to be hidden when I visit them), and the book a very light door stop.

Ordered my copy form amazon :-) Like you I'll probably end up downloading it anyway but feels good to make a contribution to the cause

Managed to download RC1 overnight...appears orange must use a packet shaper afer all... after midnight things sped up big time!

Noticed a problem on installing RC1 on my laptop... is there anyway to congiure a wireless network when initially setting up repositories/installtion sources... I get the dialogue box asking for DHCP settign etc but nowhere to enter a WEP key!

cheers
Michael
