So I installed 10.3 from the KDE CD, and I want to add some packages. I then downloaded the DVD version, since there's no online repos, and was planning on using the DVD iso image as a repository.
So I add it to the YaST software repositories tool, and I when I open the software management tool, I get this error message?
(and none of the packages get added)

Quote:
There was an error in the repository initialization.
'opensuse_iso_0.3': /var/cache/zypp/raw/opensuse_iso_0.3: Required file is missing: ./content [/b]
Any thoughts on what can cause this, or how to fix it?

I am not sure what could have happened, but when I installed 10.3rc1 a few days ago the repositories were added automatically. A few more were added when I did a "one-click" install from the restricted formats link to fix multimedia support. When you did your install you should have seen a message asking if you wanted to add repositories, do you remember that and if so are you sure you agreed to it? As I recall I think yes was the default. Also, if you were online during the install, an did the online registration and update, an update repository should have been added at the registration screen. When you look at your repositories, how many do you have and what are they?

I wasn't online at the time of the install, so I didn't add any of the official repos.

I think I may have just solved my problem... I just found the "Community Repositories" icon in YaST.
It's adding the repos that I was looking for right now...

I have gotten this error several times. Once pointed at the .iso file on another machine via Samba, another pointed to a repo on that machine that I created by extracting the .iso, and once from the DVD I burned from the .iso. And yes, the .iso file checks out. In past installs/upgrades I've run into quirks like this, too. Sometimes the installer can see an NFS connection, other times not. Same with CIFS. I have no idea why, but it's not been the media nor pilot error.

Did you install from an iso rather than the CD?
Looks like it's looking for the image.
Remove the source in that case or burn a cd and add that.
