Hi,

I have noticed that video playback with 10.3 (I've tried Alpha5-Beta3) and OpenGL screensavers are quite slow compared to the performance of 10.2, for my i915GM. There is a lot of slow, choppy transitions and movement in general.

I know that the driver has changed from "i810" to "intel", could that be the reason? i810 is not available anymore I think. xglgears give more or less the same fps (680).

Anyone else noticing this? Any suggestions?

Thanks

There's a bugreport about this afaik i810 is still useable but as said I stumbled across the bugreport.

Have a look I can't remember the specifics https://bugzilla.novell.com/index.cgi

I tried to find the bug with no luck.

Still, it's good to know that it has been noticed. I hope this is fixed as it would be a big show-stopper for me and 10.3.

FeatherMonkey are you also experiencing the same problem?

I can't say I am I leave those beta releases until the reach GM. Plus all Nvidia this end.

Though its not specific it mentions a fair bit about the pro's and con's of intel vs i860

Also if you search this for the word intel it seems to be popping up a bit.

On further looking perhaps your problem isn't quite mentioned, maybe it is worth bug reporting but as said seems there's a few in regards to intel and 10.3.
