Ok, guess I am with you guys now solving the issue with this wireless card.

I recently assembled a new pc for myself, and as said above I got this wireless card with my P5K-E mobo.

Running openSUSE 10.3 x86-64 (no doubt)

The problem is that with the the driver installed from the opensuse repository, i.e. rtl8187-kmp-default and the dependency rt2x00-kmp-default (!why not integrate it in the main driver!), the card is ONLY working when Network Setup Method is set to NetworkManager, i.e. when you use KNetworkManager, and NOT when in Traditional ifup method.

The problem with NetworkMagaer is that you cannot use the Ethernet (eth0) and Wireless (wlan0) connections at the same time. ifup does allow that, and I can setup internet routing on my openSUSE with it. So as I have desktop, KNetworkManager is NOT an option.

I still need to tru compilie the driver myself and see what are the results, but so far with the driver from openSUSE repo, I am unable to set it in YAST using ifup method. Was anyone able to do so. (not interested in compiling a separate kernel for the sake of using this wireless card)

Any further inputs will be appreciated.

Is ndiswrapper the only option ... no way to use native driver?

Has anyone being successful in using ndiswrapper and WPA-PSK!

yes, ndiswrapper can be used with wpa-psk. i know this for andy (deltaflyer) uses ndiswrapper and his network is wpa-psk. can't answer the other question though sorry. but ndiswrapper is certainly an option.

Ross.

edit: as far as i'm aware kinternet does not support wpa yet, so try wifi-radar. i use it and find it very good.

Try to switch off NetworkManager in /etc/sysconfig/network/config

See if this allows you to ifup two nics...
