I finally got fed-up with w$ on my laptop, and installed suse 10.3 wiping out everything windows.
I expected problems getting the wireless to work, and was not disappointed. (using ndiswrapper) I tried to follow the howto on Deltaflyer's website; the first stumbling block I ran into was identifying the proper drivers on the driver cd. The driver cd - from Dell - has two folders containing drivers. Each folder has two .inf files. which to use  Would it work ( read as: "make sense") to use all 4 of the .inf to build the ndiswrapper file that is used for a modprobe? |

Glad to read you got it working. As you consulted my how-to, would you like to comment on it ? was it helpful ? does it need to be clearer anywhere ? don't forget, these are generic instructions as i don't have all makes of p.c.'s & laptops & wireless devices

Your how-to is what got me going. The commands that needed to be run, were all there; Along with the man pages/--help I got the "little led" on the pcmcia card to turn on. Had a little trouble with the configration of the wifi card --- not everything was in the how-to, but then it is 'generic'. Even though I did a little stumbling around, I would not have gotten it working without the aid of your how-to Sorry I can't give any detail, but my memory is not what it used to be, and I just don't remember the specifics of the problems I had with the how-to Gary |
