I am running openSUSE 10.3. This is what I did:

I downloaded the .rpm files for ndisgtk, ndiswrapper, and ndiswrapper-kmp-default. I installed all of them (I also had to install python, python-gtk, python-cairo, python-numeric, and python-gobject2 as well because ndisgtk needed python and python-gtk to install and python-gtk needed -cairo, -numeric, and -gobject2 to install) each was successful. I then started NDISGTK and installed the driver WMP54GS.inf, it showed it installed and said the hardware was present. I then clicked on the configue network button but it didn't work so I went into YaST > Network Devices > Network Card. I clicked on Linksys BCM4306 802.11 b/g wireless LAN and then clicked configure. The card is set as eth1 and dynamic address configured with DHCP. Under hardware I changed the module name to ndiswrapper. I clicked next and picked managed, typed in linksys (name of my wireless network) for ESSID, selected WPA-PSK, Passphrase, entered my key, clicked next, and clicked finish. When I tried to open firefox, it didn't couldn't open opensuse.org. I then remembered I had a second .inf file in the driver folder I downloaded. So I went back into NDISGTK and installed the driver WMP54GSa.inf and still couldn't connect. I then went into konsole, typed su -, my root password, and lsmod. In the list, ndiswrapper was on it. I noticed under the used by column though, it had said 0 (I don't know if that is important).

Well that is all I did, let me know what I should try to do next.

EDIT: I was looking around and I noticed I do have a bcm43xx driver and wondering what that is.

EDIT2: I think I need to use BCMWL5.inf file instead. I was looking at the internet and seeing people that used that for the same card. Now I just have a question to ask, how do you unpack a .tar.gz file. I tried it once and it didn't work. Tell me if anything looks wrong with what I did up on the top even though I think I used the wrong driver.

personally i would have tried the ndiswrapper that came with your cd/dvd, it tends to work better with bcmwl5.inf.if you want to continue down that road have a read of my own little reminder i set up for myself http://stuntmanandy.no-ip.biz/Howto%27s.html, and if you want to do the tar.gz boogie, i've also got my own reminder on that page if you still have problems, let me know & i'll write it as a mini step by step for whichever one

I got it working, I unpacked my .tar.gz with the nesscary drivers, and then deleted all the drivers I previously tried to install and after installing bcmwl5.inf, it worked. I haven't rebooted on that computer yet so hopefully that is okay. Thanks anyway.
