I have tried to download the madwifi driver buy installing it through YAST but no luck. I installed the the madwifi from the directions at this site http://en.opensuse.org/Atheros_madwifi typed modprobe ath_pci into a terminal and nothing happed. Nothing was detected the light from the wireless card didn't blink no errors nothing.

Could someone please assist me on installing drivers that are compatible with this hardware and help me configure my wireless adapter to work with my wireless router? These last couple of weeks have been a nightmare with this laptop.

Tried http://en.opensuse.org/Atheros_ndiswrapper ?

Ndiswrapper works fine I havent encounter any problem with it yet... You got to have the windows driver for your card tho.

In addition to installing madwifi, did you also install madwifi-kmp-<your kernel flavor> ?

Yes I did install madwifi-kmp-<default> (my kernel is default) but still nothing happened. Also I attempted to install ndiswrapper, in fact I used that exact link to help me do so. It still didn't help, Yast still says that my wireless card isn't even connected :S. However the instructions at http://en.opensuse.org/Atheros_ndiswrapper are for the AR5212 and my laptop is running the AR2413 could this have caused problems? Also why dose the network manager keep saying "not connected" but yet when I type lspci it detects it?

I think you almost get it there .... not sure tho

May know exactly which step in installing ndis you failed?

It's not connected as "not connected to the wireless network" since it's not working , it's not connected....

just like you pull off the ethernet and it's not connected but the NIC is still detected

Once it's working and you filled in essid and wep then it will be connected (after dhcp)...

what goes with the commands:

ndiswrapper -l
iwconfig

under root?
