Thumbs up

I cannot find previous topics about 32 vs 64 bit versions of suse 10.3 with wireless adaptors so here are my questions.

I am about to upgrade to suse 10.3 (from 10.2). Had such a hard time configuring my wireless adaptor, D-link DWL-G520 Rev B with suse 10.2 I would like to ask opinions about the following:

1. Should I upgrade or make a clean install? My reasoning here is that if I just upgrade then the wireless adaptor will still work (or am I dreaming!). If I make a clean install then I will have to reconfigure the adaptor (I see plenty of advice about how to do this).

2. My processor is AMD Athlon 64 bit. With my make of wireless adaptor does it make any difference if I install the 32 or 64 bit version of suse 10.3?

Thank you

1 ) clean install is always the better option,as you have less chance of anything going wrong. even if you do an upgrade, your wireless device is not guaranteed to work

2 ) go 32bit. 64bit drivers are still a major headache, even with that other o.s. 64bit is still a problem

Thank you. That is the most conservative approach and I like it.
