....the same problem as geoffro posted( opensuse10.2), but no solution... please could anybody help me?

./configure --sysconfdir=/etc

I get this error:

Which I'm trying to figure out but haven't yet. Could someone help with this? ohmy.gif

no need to try and compile. compiling can get messy. use the 1click install and see if you get success.

http://packages.opensuse-community.org/ind...ro=openSUSE_102

for compiling issue though (although in future i suggest you try the search engine here first, as uninstalling becomes much easier, http://packages.opensuse-community.org/ ) check you have gcc and gcc+ installed.

To the above I would add is there any reason why you prefer Firestarter over the default Suse firewall?

I suspect anything you can do with firestarter can be achieved with it, using /etc/sysconfig/scripts/SuSEfirewall2-custom
