SUSE 10.2 KDE desktop, running behind a router&c. Im pretty security conscious or try to be. I have been using KDE almost exclusively for about a month now, dual boot boot with XP Pro but finding Im spending more and more time over here. I have been scanning every few days with Trend Micros Housecall Linux edition and coming up clean.

So tonight I finally got Klam AV to run on top of clam. Cool program I like it. Additionally I now have a mail scanner thanks to Klam. So I scanned the machine and came up with 12 viruses (virii?)in the local mail folders. I really was shocked since I thought that Trend MIcro would find anything on the machine....not so.

Admittedly I have a lot to learn particularly about the way AV s work. Still surprising tho. And since it is Linux the damage from everything I read is very limited.

Thought this might be interesting

hehe, basically you don't need a viri scanner for linux but if linux serves as a mail server to windows machines, then you need one to scan for windows viri

I don't run any scanner as i don't use windows and when i get a virus, i put it up in my viri collection folder, already got 4 of them
