Hi
Thank you for reading my post
I installed the OpenSuse 10.2 on my computer so i have the root user.
now i create a link to an application on my desktop (my user is legolas) and when i try to execute the application using this link it fails.

but if i open a console and use
su root
root_pass

then execute the application from its path it works fine.

so i need to execute that link under root user or do something that give my user or that link enough permission ro execute.

thanks

amswered your own question there. I think the question should be "how do i set root privilages with a shortcut or script?"

the answer to that question is this:

In the properties for a desktop shorcut there is a tab called application. click the advanced button in that tab and then all should be lcear. You will have to specify the password for the user you pick each time you run the shurtcut but this is a securtoy check.

doing the same thing in a bash script is a lil more complicated and i haven't quite mastered it yet but it is possible and if you pm me i will tell you what i have so far,

install sudo, configure /etc/sudoers and modify symlink accordingly and you will not be bothered with password again.
