Howdy! I need some assistance with an anoying problem. I want to get ssh working to atutomatically log me on from Windowz XP (using putty) to my SuSE box 10.1 I have read quit a lot on how to set it up and followed what I have read closely. This is what did so far with the result of each time I use putty I'm prompted for my user name and password. 1. under my home directory created .ssh dir. 2. with putty created a private and public key and saved it (rsa 1024 bytes). 3. used putty to logon to my SuSE box from windowz. 4. copied my public key to suse box using putty sftp added my public key to the authorized_keys2 using the following cat mykey.pub > authorized_keys2. 5. chmod 600 authorized_keys2 6. chmod 700 .ssh 7. exited out of putty 8. open up putty and confiure it to use my private key under Authorized keys (I ahve varified that the public key matches the private key). 9 When I launh putty it still asks me for my user name and password. So, please let me now if I missed something or did something wrong. For the life of me the only thing I can think of is in /etc/ssh.config but I'm not to sure what to look at in there. Any help would be Greatly appricated. I have also to say I think SuSE rocks!! Cheers Jr223
