I am using a Zoom 0226 ADSL modem that has two outputs: one ethernet that is connected to an Apple Airport Extreme, and a second USB output that is connected to a USB port on the SuSe Linux 10.1 computer.
The problem is how to get the linux to recognize and use the internet connection on the USB. There does not appear to be a solution via Yast. Does linux support such a connection? I assume that internet between one modem and one computer will work over USB, since the modem has the output. |

Ok, I am just winging it here. You mention that your Modem is connected to an Apple Airport. But you want to also hook it to your SUSE computer via USB. Does your Modem support assigning IP via DHCP or static IP (Should have a configuration access). If it does not, you would have two things competing for the same IP number.
Does the Airport have wired ports? If so you could simply hook an ethernet cable to it. Or go wireless. That is what it does after all. |

The question should be "does suse support my usb network device?". I suspect not. Easy answer would be to go buy a cheap switch and plug the modem's ethernet connection to it - then you can plug both the mac and linux box to ethernet, which typically is a whole lot more reliable than USB solutions. |
