Hey, I've seen a plethora of posts on wireless pcmcia cards, but my problem so far, has manifested itself differently.
The basics are: Laptop wireless card set to use dhcpcd. It connects fine. Can ping the router. But in order to reach the outside web, I must run dhcpcd eth1. I have also manually set my resolv.conf file to contain the proper dns servers from my provider and added my router's ip. Any ideas why using yast2 to set eth1 to dhcp seems to work accorinding to ifconfig, but i can't get to the web unless i manually run dhcpcd eth1? thanks in advance EDIT: One other thing, before i manually run dhcpcd, /etc/resolv.conf is populated with "domain site", but after i run dhcpd eth1, "nameserver 192.168.2.1" is added to the end of the file. But, I should note that adding this entry alone does not fix the problem. So far, only running dhcpcd eth1 has worked. EDIT2: Sorry for these additions, but I should mention that I made a small script in /etc/sysconfig/network/if-up.d/dirtyhack.sh that just runs: rm /var/run//dhcpcd-eth1.pid & dhcpcd eth1 This is a working "workaround", but certainly not very elegant.

have you set the nameserver to change over dhcp (in Yast)?
If so, take it out and try with fixed nameserver. |
