To, Anyone who can help

I have a business meeting in several days, and I have been sent passwords etc, in video Mpeg2 and Mpeg4 via my emails.

However I cannot watch these videos in my OpenSuse 10.3 Linux environment. I am aware of the license issues to a small degree. I have tried Totem, Mplayer and Firefox, Banshee, and the wolf looking icon, nothing will play the video SUSE says I need the appropriate Codecs for download, but SUSE times out or something and wont download them.. For now I am on a windows pc here, at a friends house, but I cannot read my Company Private emails in windows due to the format they are in on my Linux Box. I could sure use a lot of help...

Would someone explain how I can watch MPEG 1,2,3,4 in my Opensuse Box? I also have to encode some mpegs from my camera to video a conference back to my boss, so time is short for me.

I have also purchased a retail edition of SUSE, and I still have the same troubles on both editions. I was under the impression that the purchased edition could play MP3's and MPEGS, AVI's and WMVs? Is this not the case?

I am a completely new to Linux, and I am suffering from lack of support, that I have been able to find. You are my last chance to getting this stuff working or I have to go with Vista, and call my boss to tell him I can't figure out how to use Linux. Plus, I have gotten tired of windows movements towards Cashing in on every little advancement, I don't want to give my green to the man anymore.

Now I don't want any trouble, I am aware that people seem to burn windows users and vice versa in some kind of major wars about which is better, I just need some good support, and if its possible could you email me your replies, as I go off to cry somewhere, while I surf up 400 smackers for Vista...

This email is a friends account, so please put Jimmy in the subject line so that I can read your replies.

Please direct emails to Jecenlightened@aol.com

As time grows short, Im starting to feel sick.....

Thanks everyone..
