Some time ago I made up a Photo CD. When placed in a player connected to a tv it automatically displayed photographs for a few seconds each. I would like to repeat this exercise but cannot remember how it was done. From memory I was using some command line instructions to create a cd image. The image consisted of the photographs which had been pre sized in gwenview or similar.
I am not sure about using a dvd for the same thing. It seems a waste of space as it will only use a small portion of the disk. Anyway after playing with mandvd and dvdstyler I found the quality of the picture suffered. I was outputting to PAL in this case. Has anyone created a photo CD recently ? Can you give me some instructions or point me to some reading material ? Secondly - if using a dvd how do you get the best output ? NB I have followed a number of links on the site. I still have questions. |

That is actually a good question, though digikam has a slideshow feature it lacks the ability to add music and create an editable video as you do with a simple MS app such as photostory, if you are looking just creating a photocd which will play back on various OS or your dvd player well.... try looking here :da link and here:more linkage for general information about photocd support on linux....
I actually use a video editor to import the jpegs converted from raw and add transitions and music titles, etc. and create an entertaining video to show friends, family and clients....good luck |
