Banshee Won't Rip

Banshee returns this error message when I click the Import CD button:

Cannot Import CD

Could not open CD device for reading.: gstcdparanoiasrc.c
(240): gst_cd_paranoia_src_open (): /pipeline/cddarsc:
cdda_identity failed

What's that mean? How do I fix it?

I'm using SuSE 10.3. When I insert a music CD, Banshee starts up and plays it, but Banshee returns the error message, above, if I click Import CD button.

The above packages are installed, yet I'm having the troubles I described in my previous post.

What is missing, or what should be changed?
