Joinus,

Have you done any recent updates to a newer flash version or installed any flash patches? I had a recent issue with a flash update giving gray screens, but I could hear audio. I rolled back to the original version of flash that came on the DVD, which is the same version in the non-OSS repository, too, I believe. If you test out your system with the original version of flash, that might just fix your problem. YaST will probably kick up a slight fuss, but make it use the older version. Chances are, this will fix your problem. I have found flash + YouTube to be a horrible combination, by the way. Good luck, and please post back with the results of your roll-back.

If you are running 64 bit Firefox with flash loaded through nspluginwrapper it may be the updated flash did not get loaded correctly. I forgot the method of invoking nspluinwrapper but you might look here

I find using the 32 bit Firefox works easier for all multimedia plugins including Java.
