Hi

I'm a newbie in opensuse 10.3. I have an onboard sound device on an Asus P5LD2-X motherboard. I even installed the driver from the asus website but the sound in Amarok just not loud enough. Also I can not see the master volume slide in Kmix.

In yast it founds a sound device which I'm not sure the right one. Here I included a picture of it.

I think you need to raise the volume in kmix
Click on the speaker icon by the clock and raise the volume

do a left hand click on the speaker icon on the task bar (KMix icon), it should just appear as 1 slide, just above the icon once you click on it, it will not display a window like you have there which you got by right clicking. ensure this is set to the highest level as well.

Right click on the Kmix icon, then click select master channel. Use one of the other channels such as pcm as your master.

Ok. After the second step the sound is a little bit louder but still working on that. By the way whatever I do to the slider even it says 100 or 0 percent the volume is always the same.

is this the main slider when you left click on the speaker icon, or one of the sliders in the main kmix windows? surely not the main slider...?

I guess it's the main slider (the one on pops out when I left click the speaker icon)
