Hello!
I know it's a very frequent question, but I can't find exactly what I need. I know there is the ffmpeg tool which allows to convert video from one format to another, but in everyday life it is not convenient to use a command line tool, so I want to find a simple GUI application that maybe works with ffmpeg that will allow me to convert video from avi to mp4 (for iPod), from flv to avi, etc. Is there anything simple and useful? Thanks in advance! |

Thank you very much!
Avidemux works great, and it worked with my iPod very well! Thanks again! |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avidemux One of the nice things about avidemux is the project is very much alive, and the application is constantly being updated. Having stated that, in terms of pure video quality, I think the h264enc front end application proposed by microchip may yield superior output quality. I have been very impressed by the output quality of his scripts, not to mention their ease of installation, and the way the default settings have been set up for using those converters (h264enc, xvidenc, and divxenc). |

Thanks!
I understand that I can't encode into DivX with Avidemux, right? |

But that would be my guess. However Microchip has produced a new front end application called "divxenc" which does a pretty darn good job of encoding to DivX. |

Frankly speaking, I don't see DivX in the output video options... Can you tell me how I can do it?
