Opensuse 10.2 - Video Streams Over Internet

There are problems to get Finnish national tv-channels' video streams work properly in my desktop. Sofware is Opensuse 10.2, Mozilla Firefox, MediaPlayerConnectivity, VLC, Mplayer and their plugins. Below are couple of examples when trying to get things work. All videos work somehow, but some hightuning is still needed. There are also Windows test results listed as the comparison from my laptop. Hope I get rid of that Windows stuff and get Suse working properly .

1) Tv news on national Finnish channel TV1 Tuesday 20.30EET 4.3.2008
- WinXP -> Windows Mediaplayer 9 -> Properties -> Location ->http://akastreaming.yle.fi/vp/fiyle/...1128256_777515
----> Windows Mediaplayer 9 opens from Internet Explorer -> works ok
- Suse 10.2 -> Mozilla Firefox -> Properties -> Title ->http://www.yle.fi/java/areena/dispat....asx?bitrate=1
----> VLC opens from Firefox, video stream doesn't play -> error messages:

----> Adobe Flash Player 9 opens from Internet Explorer, video stream is playing, but can't be expanded to fullscreen mode
- Suse 10.2 -> Mozilla Firefox -> Properties -> Title ->http://www.nelonen.fi/uutisvideot/video_player_wide.swf
----> VLC opens from Firefox, video stream doesn't play -> no error messages
----> Mplayer doesn't open from Firefox, video stream doesn't play -> no error messages
----> all tabs off from MediaPlayerConnectity Media Player selections -> Adobe Flash Player 9 playes video stream inside Firefox, but can't be expanded to fullscreen mode


**QUESTIONS**
- how URL-addresses mentioned above should be edited, so they could be open straight from VLC and Mplayer
- what would be the recommended plugins for VLC and Mplayer to get them work more smoothly
