ARCHIVES - Multimedia Don't know how to watch DVDs using mplayer? Asking yourself what the heck mplayer is? This is the right place to ask.

three things here:

a: do you have the plugins ?(aboutlugins)
b: are you running 64bit OS?
c: Is it necessarily a BAD thing Fox news can't be watched?

I noticed that foxnews video here:

http://www.foxnews.com/video/index.html

Will not play if you're user agent is reporting that you are using Linux. Konqueror can change that easily. As for firefox...

Install this plugin: http://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/59 change your user agent to IE7 / Vista and it'll let you right in.

The site shouldn't have anythign to do with codecs. It's flash video just like youtube. IMO pretty stupid for Fox to go through the effort to block linux users for no good reason, but hey, it's Fox.

Interesting notice:

I guess that poor Vista and everyone else not wanted. Really a stupid idea on their part.

I meant to say it works on windows vista since mattb already named the rest. my comment sound as if I run all windows.

I think it's a drm issue.
