Hi everyone.

I am in need of serious help and I hope someone can assist.

We are running a SLES 8 server and had to add some space using a san.
We installed a qlogic driver however and had to manually install the driver.

I followed the installation instructions for the driver, it required quite some steps and the last step was /sbin/mk_initrd.

after running these the process requires a reboot.

I rebooted and now the server does not want to start up.
I get the message "unable to mount root on /dev/cciss/c0d0p4" and I confirmed this is in fact my root partition.

I booted the server from disk in rescue mode but now I am unsure as to how to get the server fixed.

Can someone please assist as I need this server up and running in about 2 hours?

thank you in advance.
